Evo vs. Sti Shootout 2009 Buttonwillow results
« on: November 19, 2009, 11:50:45 AM »

Last Tuesday November 10, 2009 was the Annual Import Tuner Evo vs. Sti shootout sponsored by Continental Tire.  We entered The Octane Reports 2006 Lancer Evo IX to go heads up against the competition.  The car was on the stock engine and turbo, so we installed our newly released TTech 600 series stock-framed turbocharger along with equipment from companies like Carbonetics, KW Suspension and tuned her for the circuit.

We can't tell you all the results and lap times but we can tell you that we repeated our 2007 victory and swept the event with 1st place.  If you'd like the full results be sure to check out a future issue of Import Tuner for all the details.

We would like to thank Import Tuner for holding such a great event along with Continental Tire for sponsoring the event and providing us with their newly released Conti-Extreme DW tires.  We would also like to thank Russ Warr for providing his driving skills and M1 Fabrication and Development for their suspension expertise. Below are some pics from the event.  You will also be able to read a review of the event at www.Octanereport.com shortly.  Enjoy and thanks for reading.

Thanks to Alfred, Jen and the rest of the Tuning Tech staff. Without their help and the new TTech 600 turbo, we wouldn't have been able to pull this win off. They literally opened the shop late Fri night after SEMA to take the car and worked on it all weekend so that we could have the car ready to race by Tues morning.

The Tuning Tech turbo itself is awesome. Completely stealth, bolt-on and makes great power. Check out the link below for more details. Helped us keep up with a few built engine, big turbo cars before losing them through the corners.  Wink
