Just got dyno tuned by RRE using the Alternate Map switch tuning for 91 Costco gas and E85. I can switch fuel maps using a toggle switch and don't need to lug my laptop around anymore. Stock turbo/internals I have a very basic Stage 1 Pkg all installed by RRE: RC Engineering 1000cc injectors Walbro fuel pump Zeitronix stage Eleventeen Zeitronix Ethanol Content Analyzer Defi BF Boost, Oil Temp, Water Temp gauges RRE high flow cat Espelir 2.75" downpipe AVO catback Dejon Tool boost controller Cosworth dropin filter RRE Hot Dog Grill RRE Dynotune flash w/ alternative map switching functionality E85 stages can be found here: http://www.socalevo.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=37&topic=53637.0 As EvoPowa says "Please keep the [dyno racing]"well it reads to high/low" well Buschur reads this, and AMS reads that comments to a min. " 383.6 peak whp and torque! Boost spikes at 30.7PSI, then tapers down from there. Gotta love the stock turbo... Costco's finest 91 Octane charts. Came out well! E85 tune compared to my Costco 91 tune Acceleration in G's. Pretty neat function I need a new boost gauge that can read higher Pics of the Alternate Map toggle switch and a blue LED indicating which fuel map i am on. Blue LED is on indicating that i am on my E85 fuel map. videoes: Stock turbo efficiency FTW! lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8kRGrSSSoohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ekVFaXxcvQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiZHsTGqidsDyno run at Mitsubishi Owners Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuu1jNxciC4

No dyno charts, but if someone wants to pay for my dyno session, i'll do it since i'm financially challenged these days I got stage 1 mods as listed on RRE's E85 thread listed above. On 100 octane, i made 353whp, but with E85 the butt dyno says it feels stronger than 100 octane. So, 360ish whp???

I need to bug Scot again, since i want some of te additional improvements he has with the ECU. Havent read much about the e85, so i plan to do a bit more reading to find out the benefits and cons... unless you can elaborate quickly on what the benefits are, aside cost.

Goku, switching to e85 gives you basically 110 leaded race gas performance for cheap. You need rre/scot e85 ecu tune, 660 or 720 injectors and a walbro. You will want to have a laptop and cable to be able to swap maps between 91 and e85 when your traveling far away from e85 sources. Figure 40 or so extra whp vs 91 and it doesnt hurt your sensors like running leaded race gas, stink or cost 7 plus dollars a gallon. You will get 20% less mileage per tank but it costs 30% less than 91 so its all good. Last thing is it doesnt like really cold weather so dont use it to go on a ski trip. Here in socal though, temps arent really an issue. I am on my 5th tank and the car really likes the stuff plus I have officially a 506whp/435 torque daily driver setup with my mods at a conservative 24 psi. My dyno graph is on the rre e85 stages thread first page

thanks for the info.. i was looking for another laptop// something compact and small.. dont need anything bigger than a 12" screen laptop to carry around. i can only imagine the results if its similar to running leaded gas...

I'm guessing 720 or 750cc injectors would be optimal on a stock turbo setup. We tuned on 660's because i didn't feel like purchasing new injectors, but the results are very positive with the 660's. So, if you have 660's, you can still run E85. If you plan on purchasing new injectors anyways, 720 or 750cc would prolly be best. I hope Dr. Gray chimes in with his opinions.

Simon, that is badass. congrats!!! I will be hitting up the DR. for this tune as well. I have read and confirmed with the DR about having somekind of switch with the EMS that allows switching between 2 maps without the use of a laptop....
Eventhough there are not many accessible stations as of yet, I am fortunate to live close to one. This a great alternative to 110 and for the price per gallon you just can't beat it.........

With the stockish turbo, if you have Denso 660 or 720 injectors already, just keep those. We will know during the tuning if you need more, but typically it is okay. If you only have stock injectors and need to buy some injectors, I recommend getting the RC 750s for a stockish turbo, and RC 1000s if you are planning to go to a big turbo soon, or already have a big turbo.

I can tell you the e85 doesnt stink with out a cat like normal gas, does anyone know if e85 is cleaner than gas? if you can pass smog and have 25psi on the street that shit will make 2lb 8 ounce baby jesus cry.

Yeah it will pass the sniffer test no problem. The issue is the visual inspection. Unfortunately in California, the actual emissions that come out of the tailpipe are less important than what color hoses you have under the hood...

Post up your gas mileage numbers Skiracer when you get a chance. I'm getting about 220 a tank in mine.
