I've been having an issue on a local Evo 10 with some fuel delivery problems on E85 that we had kept chasing and couldn't quite get... 1. Fuel Relay OK 2. Upgraded Injectors 3. FuelLab AFPR (raised pressure no change) 4. Walboro in-tank pump... This, as far as I know, was the first Evo 10 tuned on E85 in America. We tuned this back in March, on the stock turbo (it now has a Blouch Dominator 2) so it most likely has the most miles on E85 of any other, you can see the results here: http://forums.evolutionm.net/7044333-post55.htmlToday it came back in after upgrading the underhood fuel lines, adding a upgraded fuel rail and a FuelLab AFPR. Still same issues. I finally decided to take the pump out and check things out. Here is what I found: Notice the orange Ultimate Racing Supplied slinky fuel line. Guess what color they are in regular gasoline and stock? Semi-translucent white, like this: The line was also sticky to the touch which I imagine is because it has been breaking down in the E85. The black slinky line was as well. (disregard the loose pump) The fuel pump sock used was also the "walbro" kit cotton based sock which had all the cotton broken down and missing, which is probably now in the fuel pump and filter. We will be replacing the slinky OEM line (which is pretty ghetto to begin with) with real fuel hose. I *HIGHLY* recommend all Evo 10 E85 users to replace these lines with real fuel hose and do not use the cotton based fuel sock, but a Evo 8/9 OEM sock or some other non-cotton based one.

Well I'm glad someone is checking on what e85 can do to the cars. Things like this are very hard to spot unless you look for them. Thanks for the info.

When i got some fuel lines to connect my Zeitronix Ethanol Content Analyzer, i picked up some fuel line from Napa which is designed to handle 100% methanol. Maybe you can use this stuff for a fuel line: http://partimages2.genpt.com/partimages/683115.pdfEmail from Napa regarding part #'s Thank you for visiting NAPAonline.com. The fuel infection hose that you are searching for is available at local NAPA stores, and can also be ordered at NAPAonline. The part numbers are H210, H211, and H212. To order a part online or obtain more information about it, please return to NAPA online at your earliest convenience and look for "Parts PRO SE CATALOG" on the lift side, click on it. Simply enter the part number in Search and click on part number; now click on the red arrow. Scroll down and follow the instructions on your screen. Again, thank you for visiting NAPAonline.com. Napa Parts Pro SE link: http://www.napaonline.com/NOLPPSE/(S(razaebznshu1co45d224z055))/Welcome.aspxEDIT.... I'M NOT SURE IF THE EXTERIOR OF THE HOSE IS ABLE TO WITHSTAND ALCOHOL FUELS.......SO DOUBLE CHECK SINCE IT APPEARS THE ENTIRE HOSE GETS SUBMERGED IN THE FUEL...

If not intended for that type of fuel, it can damage tons of things. If any other component is of the same material as the pump screen then you take the chance of damaging the engine by causing a clog and running the motor lean ,

Popping and a little fary with a bah-bump is normal running catless. But to me a "back fire" is a KA-POW with flames to light up traffic behind you with the hood rats pulling out they 38s... that is a bit much and not quite normal.

If you're looking for a submersible hose that's E85 compatibile, i'd try emailing these guys since they're one of the largest industrial hose makers: http://www.gates.com/

Yeah RRE can set you up with an E85 package, with all the stuff you need.
The only LA area E85 station is currently in Brentwood.

I guess I never updated this thread. Sorry it's hard to keep up with all the forums some times. Yes indeed that line that turned orange is from the UR kit. Which alot of people do (did) have when upgrading to E85 on the 10's. So it's no really mis-information at all, I just forgot to update the thread. And FYI, the black lines where starting to break down as well.

It's all good. Just wanted to clear that up. I edited my post. We have two e85 evo x's both at about 450 hp. No issues at all with the kit in my last post.
