    Intake questions

    Got a evo x, not planing to go over 400hp at all, Would you guys go with a k&n (or some brand off the shelf) drop in intake with stock intake box, or would you pay the extra money and go for a full cold air intake( some kind of aftermarket intake like aem intake or somthing)? Give me your thoughts and personal experience if you would like it would really help. Thanks guys!!

    Yes it should fit it man. The X is a great for DD i took mine back forth on vegas runs.

    yes it fits. I have a 2014 gsr with the cosy drop in. On the rre dyno it made like 5hp...lol

    Sounds like cosworth drop in or AEM is the way to go. Of course the cosworth drop in is the best value. If you do go AEM I suggest you get a tune since it will make your run lean.

    i took off the factory box and just put on a K&N cone filter on and its working fine..cars makes good power and it runs great :)

    I heard that after a tune a drop-in vs intake is a wash. On an upgraded turbo though, that's a different story.

    Sounds like cosworth drop in will do u fine or aem.

    im running a k&n drop in and perrin turbo inlet on my evo and love it. Stealthy look and even before i was tuned i could feel the car was a little more lively lol.

    What year is your x I have a 2008 and slapped on a cone filter and have surging problems. Will this kit make a difference?

    I know a guy who tuned his X with just a Works high-airflow drop-in panel filter and a Stealthworks muffler, he made 298hp on a Dynapack. Just for reference if it matters.

    I got from different post, if you want to make big power upgrade later on more parts. look for 3.5 intake. if can you want to leave stock or just full bolt-on parts. 3 inc intakes or aftermarket drop-in filter is enough.
