I thought about getting a big lifted truck....but then realized that without the eve, the big lifted truck would serve no purpose since it wouldn't have anything thing broken to tow. SO I got a X...

Elevendy Billion AWHP/RRE Flux Capacitor
in my opinion, a car with 4 doors is really all you will ever need. if you need to tow a racecar, then get a truck

I still miss my 8MR. Really regret selling for so little, considering it only had 7k miles on it.
Moved onto some german stuff, not a big fan. Needed another japanese car, needed more power. 4G63 never really made enough power for me (at least in a streetable non smog ref triple police car pullover state of tune), and the AWD was downright parasitic at highway speeds.
So i picked up this little nissan for a beater...
nice beater
Any plans to modify the beater?
they have something called the GT-R tax. just because a part is made for this car, vendors think they can mark it up. Yes, everything is outrageous. I put a used HKS midpipe on it, cost me $400. But retail on that thing? about $1k. I remember going to RRE and picking up a stainless downpipe for $200 on my evo. Tune? forget about it. After licensing and a proper tune, you're out about $2k.
Right now, with just the midpipe and some 100 octane mixed in with 91 socal piss gas, the car is probably making about 560 crank hp. Haven't had a chance to hit fontana yet, but I'd like to see if it can run 10.9 out of the box. they can trap 122-124 bone stock, so we will see.
maybe its time to get it running on the corn juice.
still sick AF: getting on E85 for sure, if your anywhere near 5150 they can flexfuel it. they been doing it longer on GTR's then the EVO's
I think you would see another 50h-whp, like you even need it. I doubted the GTR for so long until I got a ride in a 650 hp one. makes my evo feel like a stock civic.
the only other car that make my gut turn like that was the tesla model S with the 85KW.
From recent trackday...
^Nice! Rare, but great to see a GTR being tracked :)
was thinking of picking up a new sti, it seems like subaru has finally caught up to the mitsubishi evo ix in terms of steering rack and trackability. Only thing holding me back is the ej257...with the ringlands issue and seemingly still having issues holding higher boost due to blow by. I find it amazing after 10+ years in the US it still has the same problems...i should have never sold my evo ix..prices are the same as when I bought it in 2010!
Life after evo... not sure what to get now.
when did you sell your car?
Sportback Evolution MR
Yeah, there's a lot of cool stuff out there.
Have you had an 8/9 yet? http://bringatrailer.com/listing/200...volution-9-se/
What are you looking for? Old/new? Domestic, Euro, Japanese? Sedan, GT, golf cart, horse and buggy?
I'm back here on the forum after selling my xi in 2010. I currently drive a 01 impreza rs about to swap the motor. However, family duties call so i'm abandoning the project and looking for an evo.
Which Evo are you looking to buy?
I Know this thread is old but it seems every other thread is old so.........life after Evo sucks. I regret selling my EVO IX everyday but life happens and you have to make things happen. Still driving turbo 4 bangers but nothing compares to an EVO IX but sadly finding another one in unmolested condition is more rare than a unicorn that poops gold.
I can relate. as I probably mentioned earlier, I regret selling my VIII and VIII MR before, so now I have no plans to sell my existing MR.
sure there are other newer and faster cars out there, but I think there is still something about the Evo that makes it special.
