    Akebono. Pads???

Hey guys so my car is coming to the point of needing new pads. I have seen a lot of people saying stoptech or centric but I'd like to take advantage of my employee disount on these. I want to know any opinions on how these akebono pads do on the X car only has 25k and Im using the procut on car brake lathe to resurface my rotors. I know they are great OE quality for a fact, even the new mirages roll off the lot with them, but how do they dp against spirited driving?

I've never even heard of them before lol.

A quick search shows that nobody else on our platform runs them. If you want to be a guinea pig and venture into the unknown, go for it.

Also, all the reviews are mostly from regular cars. I wouldn't run them on the Evo, especially if you do any spirited driving at all.

They were really just some OEM replacement kind of pads before, the sort you'd put in your mom's CR-V, but I do notice a big price increase after they became the sponsor of Maclaren F1 team.
Now the new P1 use their brake system also. Other than that, I still dont find them any more attractive, or even know much about them.

    ^^This.

I don't think they even ever offered a sport type pad. They seemed to have developed an excellent caliper....the Mclaren guys love them.
I wonder if they make brakes for other Japanese companies....ie: Endless, Project Mu....

They do they are the euro act pads. They are the brakes that all the European cars are for. I just never seen them on an evo. All my Audi, mercedes-benz, and bmw customers request them only.
