p2096 Code for Check engine/Service engine
Hey guys I had a quick question that I need an 100% answer to.
Driving to work this morning my check engine/ service engine came up throwing a P2096 code saying my catalytic something is running to lean. I have to say before hand the second o2 sensor was stripped out and is just tucked away as of right now under my car because I have a turbo back exhaust now. Has anyone come across this problem before? And would it be safe to drive the car as of right now and might I say I'm going to be getting an aem Afr soon so would that fix this problem as well. Thanks in advance!

Putting the O2 sensor where it belongs fixes the problem of the ECU being upset that the O2 sensor is not where it is supposed to be.
The ECU will still see that you have no cat because you have no cat.
Getting your car tuned, or getting a tooner to at least tell the ECU to ignore the flopping around in the wrong place O2 sensor will also deal with the problem of the little yellow light on the dash.
An AFR gauge (properly interpreted) lets you know if you really have a problem with the car actually running lean or rich.
Your car is safe to drive.

I have the same issue. Contacted Baka at 5150 and he said the car is fine.
