    AWARDS & ACCOLADES

"This week, we’re driving one of the most impressive compact sport sedans to date, namely the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR. Built for performance from top to bottom, Evolution is a true sports car that offers superior handling and performance delivered in the guise of a family sedan."
"If the sports car lover in you wants to fool your neighbors who will admire your 'reasonable choice' of transportation, this car’s for you."
"Standard features include some of the most respected brands in motorsports, like high-performance Brembo disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, Recaro seats and BBS 18-inch alloy wheels on Yokohama performance tires."
"We took our Evolution to a closed road course and came away amazed at what $38,195 buys these days. Once you nestle in and buckle up, Evolution’s special seats snug and hold you in place as hard cornering g-force grip overwhelms your senses. Our tester came with the automatic transmission, which performed excellent whether up or down shifting."
"With 2014 Lancer Evolutions awaiting your visit, Test Drive recommends enthusiasts giving it a try. I promise you’ll be just as impressed as I am."
"Likes: Amazing power and acceleration, top class handling, wolf in sheep’s clothing."
Greg Zyla (Penny Saver [various communities]11/1/2013 online)
"Since spending a week with Mitsubishi’s gorgeous 2014 Lancer Evo GSR, I came to appreciate many things that make this such an incredible lap attack car, but also a great daily driver with incredible torque."
"It largely demolishes the current-gen the Subaru WRX STi on all but the roughest gravel roads."
"All Evo’s, of course, leverage the brilliant computer-managed AWD system with its crushingly effective yaw control and active torque vectoring."
"The Lancer Evolution has won the beauty pageant versus Subaru for at least the last two generations. As the Subaru STi design went soft and ditched the frameless window design in favor of a high-roof sedan and even a hatchback variant, the Evo stayed hard with crisp surfacing details that barely contain the muscular performance within."
"The Evo is such a riot to drive that guys would line up to drive it even if they there were no seats and they had to sit on a cinder block to see out the windshield."
"The seats themselves offer excellent support and a reasonably adjustable driving position to accommodate different size drivers with six-way manual adjustments."
"When the boost hits, the Evo’s engine changes pitch to a meaty howl and the Mitsubishi simply shoots forward (and most likely passes anything that beat it off the line)."
"For drivers that are hooked on the Evo’s one-of-a-kind turbo rush and macho styling, there is no substitute for the face-bending smiles and laughs that come from owning a Mitsubishi Evolution."

Can't believe they are discounting by only $500 without recaros and increasing the price of the MR. These cars should be huge profit for Mitsu now because of the very long production run. Very weird...apparently they have no connection with their core buyers.

No sense in a sports car.. I mean, should be now crying to have SUV - Van features. This amenities doesn't matter for an sport car. Whatever

Mitsubishi is basically committing suicide but with how crappy the 2015's are, this will probably make all the used prices of the 08-14 X's go up slightly :P

Now it REALLY makes sense why the marked up the price on the 2014 SO DAMM MUCH LATELY!!!
It's really sad that evo, with the 2015, the last of its kind will die off this way. Can we get a start up on reviving the EVO bloodline?

If Mitsubishi will discontinue the evolution models, they should at least revive the 3000GT ones.

South Coast Mitsubishi already have 2015 X listed on their web site and there's no Recaro.

its been stated the reasoning for no recaro's is that the car failed to pass the 2015 safety rules.

HID on the GSR is still available with the SS package. all of them still have the Brembos.

what i was told a while back was that the Recaros were no longer certified (or something along those lines) for 2015-onwards with regard to airbag regulations in the US.

this is why elsewhere, 2015 Evos still have the Recaros, only US-bound Evos dont have them. the Brembos were unaffected.

If you think about it, if you bought an older RS-model Evo (like some Evo Vs and VIs), they did not come with Recaros or alloy wheels. they were strictly for competition use, and Mitsubishi already assumed you were going to strip everything off the car anyways.

Well I guess for the sake of purposes it would be nice to have something of value to part out if you did do that. I am glad all of the models still have the brembos. Is the SS much like the SSL package on the ct9a? It would be nice to have a sunroof on a nice cruiser. I would never use the X as a track car. I wish they had the AYC in the ct9a. I still wish they came out with a different body style though. Poor evo is dying due to all the government regulations. Although I was very curious about that turbo diesel hybrid concept they were thinking of. Oh well that was short lived.

go buy a JDM/UKDM Evo 9.. if you want AYC haha.

but everything Macky stated is correct. the only reason was the seats did not meet safety regulations for 2015.
