Out of those two i prefer the vibrant due to the shape.
I found that it depends a lot on the car- how the tranny feels and shifter height being the main factors. With the Mitsu trannies, i like the feel of the round knob with a bit of cylindrical shank, like the 8/9 baseball or the vibrant pictured above. I ended up buying a brand new 8/9 baseball which i'm currently using. The weight and feel of leather is perfect. I've tried a bunch of others. Steering wheel, knob, pedals, seat are all an important part of the driver interface so i would recommend trying a bunch of different ones to get the feel right.
edit- Regarding that last sentence, i don't mean go buy a bunch of em. I just mean try different ones over time as opportunities arise.
I have that Vibrant Carbon fiber shift knob...
No complaints ... I want a ralliart shift knob once the carbon fiber fades out
Neither imo. Find a nice weighted knob. Like Blox.
Personally I run a TWM M1 Abrams. About 1lb. Also a bit expensive, though very good quality.

What sort of difference are you talking about when it comes to weighted? I like how the Carbon Fiber ones look, which is the main reason for buying it, but if a weighted knob performs that much better, then I'll end up going that route, and screw the carbon fiber. The vibrant looks like it would feel good while shifting, but many of the weighted ones I've seen also have same or similar shape.
I just prefer the weighted feel because it shifts a bit smoother on an already notchy transmission. Instead of TWM, which is pretty expensive, you can go with BLOX. They make some nice looking/feeling weighted knobs. Weighing in at about 490 Grams / 1 Pound, and for only $60. I paid $150 for my TWM bahahaha...come to think of it I might switch to BLOX now LOL

Blox 490 Spherical looks awesome....hmmmm NEO or GunMetal finish?
I kind of like the a6 leopard

theres the link to the twm site.
TBH, I like the Mitsubishi factory option knob they are a grip thou.
I used a momo knob similar to a baseball, now moving into Tomei shift knob (tall and cylindrical). I getting use to the tomei, but I agree baseball form is more better. I got confidence and comfort using the hand palm and wrist to shift, instead your hand grabbing the knob and moving you arm to shift...
I also liked the a6 from twm, but Sev had me convinced not to pay double for the TWM. Bastard also convinced me to go weighted....jp jp, but you did sway my opinion on what to get as far as weighted or not. Blox are priced pretty well.
lowkey im selling my twm to pick up blox ahahahaha!

Definitely try the weighted, but i don't think its for everyone. I would agree that it can smoothen things up some, but it feels less precise. These trannies need finesse more than anything.
clunky and notchy trans ftl
im gonna pick up the Kracka shifter package, it smooths out your shifts like butterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Im going to buy a flossy grip tape weighted knob soon, check them out, they seem pretty cool.
anyone have experience with flossy knobs? (no pun intended)
Once I tried a weighted shifter, I will never go back.
blox is billet right, yeah so what more are you really paying for besides CNC+billet??
id like to get my own desktop CNC machine, you can make all kinda stuffs. I mean who doesn't like anodized colors and billet parts? keychains, phone cases, ninja stars I mean I could go on forever.....
True jiggy, but the finish and fit from what I've seen from blox are spot on. The neo and platinum are amazing. Just can't decide which color or finish I should say to go with
