Oh, that was you. Rick fixed it and you didn't want to pay for it., You weren't much happy paying for fixing the exhaust leak either. Gus spent an hour on the car and Rick spent an hour and a half on it. You didn't want to pay so we just charged you the $80 for the exhaust leak and the vacuum leaks and flashed the Tooner Tune back in it as it was when it came in. If you ever want to pay us to fix it we can help you out. Or have your Tooner guy call Rick here at the shop and he'd be happy to tell him how to do it. Really you should pick a Tooner that you trust and stick with him and work through the Tooner stuff with your Tooner directly off line. Less drama for everyone that way.

Ive trusted RRE for my Evo IX and my old eclipse. Ive had no issues there, thats why i took my car there to figure out what was wrong with my car cause my tuner couldnt figure out the reason for my high idle and of course he didbt think it was the tune. When i brought it there Gis didnt sound too convincing that it was 100% the tune that was the reason for the high idle. He said they played with the tune a little and although it helped, it didnt fully correct the issue and said it would need more tweaking. I asked of he could tweak it and he said i would need to get a fresh tune and honestly i didnt have the money to throw at it for a new tune when i just paid money to have it tuned in the first place. I honestly just want to get the issue fixed already. You mentioned that you guys would be willing to help with advice on how my tuner could correct this issue with his tune. I know its very hard to get a hold of either you or Rick over the phone or even through email so Is there any way you can message me with the necessary tweaks my tuner can make and shed some light as to what wrong with the tune i can forward to him? Cause i really dont have that much to tune my car again there. Please let me know, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem as well with my X. It tends to bounce under 1 RPM when im in neutral. It comes and goes as well.

My idle will randomly idle under 1000 when its still cold it will do the same... it just bounces around a lot of its not warm ... then goes all the way up to 3000rpm after its warm and i stop at a light.

I would get money back from whoever tuned you if they can't figure out what's wrong, or does not have the same capabilities to do mechanical work and ecu tweaking.

Honestly if one shops about to do the work for another might want to redirect where you do business and tune. Give these guys time you should know it busy guys, time and solid communication kept my X GSR healthy.

    Hey James,

You can't expect RRE to spend hours helping you with your problem for free. You said you were just tuned by Btack. That may or may not be your problem, but there recently was some drama about him allegedly stealing tunes: http://www.socalevo.net/threads/2315...-Btack-Edition

Not sure if it's true or not, but I personally would recommend you take it to an actual reputable shop and just have them do the work/tune. Sorry if you have to dish out money again for the tune, but that's what happens when you don't start off with a reputable shop/tuner.

The difference between a reputable shop, RRE or other, is that they won't say "we can't fix it so it's your problem now, go ask the internet on how to fix it."

    Good luck with the car!

The table in your tune that is causing you grief affects other stuff globally. Also it is bad form to tune on top of other tooner's stuff. At least it is in my country.

Im not sure what the first line you typed means, but I understand the 2nd part about tuning over someone elses tune. aside from that I am willing to pay you to fix the problem, just not how much i was quoted for. The car has been tuned by you before, with the previous owner, so I dont think I should be charged the full amount for a tune. I can even reflash the RRE tune I have from the previous owner if needed to get retuned. He was running all the same parts except he had a diffirent test pipe, im running the RRE test pipe. Perhaps it would be easier to discuss this over the phone , just let me know when your free to talk. I would really like to talk and see if we can get this problem taken care of together where both of us are happy.

Not surprised one bit that the tune is the culprit

A little side note... when i was tuned for E85 I still had anout a little under a gallon of 91 in the take, now its just E85. Would that throw off the afr's or trigger the CEL codes I got for lean condition and IAT sensor high output?

After a few days of running my friends MAF sensor the idle has seemed to stabilize 80% of the time but still occasionally raises back up to 3k. Possibly a bad MAF?
