What aftermarket rim would look Acceptable without lowering?

hey, guys, I was gonna purchase a set of lowering spring. But the springs I want are out of stock and will be available next year Feb.

I am seeing some good deals for the rims around this time of the year. So I am just wondering if I can throw on some rims on stock suspension without looking too stupid.

I really like the handling of the stock car and if I could get away without lowering, it could save me a couple hundreds too. The only reason I wanted lowering spring is that i hate the 4x4 looks.

Has anyone done this before and liked the result? I would love some pictures, recommendations, color combination ideas. I think there may be certain design/color to achieve this.

    Thanks for u guys help!

I would just get nice 18" wheels that are more aggressive than stock and some basic aftermarket springs if I were you. Look at something mellow but high quality like Eibach or Swift. I have had a few different sets of springs with OEM shocks and the ride is a bit firmer but still mellow for every day driving. Also, buying just springs is pretty cheap. With the right set of wheels, you shouldn't bounce all over the place or scrape on everything. I would even go as far as to recommend getting springs before you get the wheels because I really like how all stock EVO wheels look with a little bit of a drop. Last, if you have it all installed properly by a shop that knows EVOs, they can ensure everything will fit and work properly for your intended use, whether it is getting groceries or tracking.

If you go the route you are thinking about above, I feel like you will need to increase the diameter of the wheel to a 19" or a 20", which in most people on this forum's opinion is going to be

oh, also, as you probably know—with car modification PATIENCE is VERY important. Never make a decision because it will take 6-8 weeks to get what you want. Just get what you want and roll stock until then. I have been in to cars since the early 90s and every mistake I have made on every car I have ever owned has been because I wanted something NOW and compromised.

If you like the feel of your oem suspension then from my experience I could say that the swift spec r springs are the way to go. I have the swift springs on my car and am extremely happy with them, and I drive my car from OC to LA 5 days a week. The handling has gotten better and it almost feels as comfortable stock springs. Not sure what springs you were planning on getting, but as jamesinger stated be patient, and I would def recommend doing springs first because our stock rims aren't all that bad to look at anyways. Besides you don't want to buy twice, unless your ballin like that. I haven't taken pics yet after my springs were installed, but just let me know if your interested and I'll post some ASAP

You guys are right... I was very impatient when it comes to modding cars.
Lol, I decided to get swift spec r now. I was gona get gtworx spring. But I guess they are very similar anyway.
But I do agree, I should do things in right order...

Im the same way. I get very impatient with mods, but eventually you get there. You will love the swifts. Its not as much of a drop as you may want looks wise. But i daily drive mine and don't regret it. I want to drive my car without worrying about scraping every bump dip and driveway. Now i just have to worry a little. Lol. Dont forget the cars roots anyways. you never seen a rally car slammed to the ground now have you?
