I'm amazed, and simultaneously sad for Ford and Subaru that the X received such praise in terms of driving dynamics and it's not far from it's 10th bday. It's not like Ford is new to this with a rally heritage spanning decades. Not surprised that the Golf R is kind of a yawn, they are going for a different buyer.

It's kind of hilarious to hear them talking about the X like that - "economy interior" "light switch power delivery" "singular focus" etc. Makes you wonder what they'd say about the IX, or even an VIII, since the X is considerably softer, more refined, less urgent and has a considerably smoother power delivery.

What drew me to the Evo originally is just the sheer amount of fun it is to drive. If and when I look to replace it or add to the family it's really tough to decide what other car could be similar, maybe I would have to add an X to the family or go older and get a V or VI.... someday
