I've seen some good reviews on Amsoil and Royal Purple but I usually stick with Mobile 1.

I've never heard of amsoil...hmm I'm a joke. I used redline for my first change, but used mobil 1 for my second on RMR's advice, you need to hear their Mobil 1 story hehe.

I've used Amsoil before. As expected, there was a significant difference between Amsoil and the non-synthetic I was running before. The engine was quieter overall, but most noticeable at high cruise speeds. This was on my Accord.

A fairer assessment would be between synthetic oils. I know people who have switched from other synthetics and have also noticed that Amsoil IS quieter.

With the longer drain intervals for Amsoil, it might be more cost-effective as well.

The heat index and viscosity index at heat is really impressive of Amsoil, their polymer compound rating is really good although Mobil 1 is close enough.

I think he just took the record of the oldest necro thread bump on SCE. 8.5yr old thread. I use amsoil for transmission, rear diff, transfercase, and engine. I track the car 2-3 times on the same oil and 4-8k miles. Nuff said.

Never used it in any of my cars ... Hubby just got some to use in the S2K ...so we'll see if it dies or works or whatever ...car is supercharged :buck2:
