dunno too much about the car yet...but ive heard something about that if you get a BOV...it will lower its performance unless you get something else along with it or whatever? dunno...

with regards to the bov you need a recirculating kit or the car will stumble and stall. It all depends how much power you want. You can go with turbo back, intake, and reflash, which will get you quite a bit of power.

i see...
how much psi can the stock turbo put out?
has it been tested yet?

well if you get a turbo back exhaust your going to push more psi probally like 20-21. Im not sure of the psi limit of the turbo, but I may look into taking my turbo to I think its turbonetics and have them rebuild my turbo.

The stock turbo can push 21-22 but will start to run out of air above 5500 rpm.

As far as power... a BOV doesn't give you anything but better seal and quicker throttle response. Real power can only be achieved by reducing back pressure by going exhaust or retuning the engine by ECU flashes. Only way to make high PSI is to go bigger turbo.

anything we can do to get more high end power?
since it seems like the evo loses power towards high rpms...

Hey,

Turbonetics in simi, can take your stock turbo and put a new wheel and otherwise "upgrade" it for 30-40 percent more air flow good to get you to 23-25 psi. If you checkout the link below, please note I was only running 23 psi at the time and you can do that with the stock turbo and a bigger wheel...

Do the following: turboback- 3" avo exhaust, send your turbo out to turbonetics and get a mbc and fuel cut defender. The mbc will allow you to adjust the boost and the fuel cut defender will let you get over 1.5 bar where the ecu failsafes and cuts out fuel to the injectors.(feels like your tranny just dropped!) this will take you from 235 stock to 340-350 at the wheels. no need to tune.

The evo is pig rich stock and you are good on the a/f ratio at 10/1. Add a computer later and you pick up 30 hp and a lot of torque and earlier spool.

Cheaper and better than most turbo kits unless you want to get over 400 at the wheels where this will top out at. If you need more... GT40 KIT!

If your wondering how i acquired this knowledge... here is my car:
