The other day I was trying to pass a car on a freeway on ramp. When I finally got by him I looked down at my tach and realised I was right before 8!!!! wtf wasent I suppost to hit fuel cut at 7400??? the car didnt jerk or hesatate like I thought it would at fuel cut.

yeah, same here... I can go beyond 8K (by mistake of course) and not hit any limiter whatsoever.

Could it be, fuel cut is gear determined? Just a guess!! Because I know, I hit fuel cut before but didn't remember what gear I was in........

prob the 1st 2nd and 3rd gear...and 4th and 5th there isnt any...dunno

most maunfactures tacks are off a bit. IN my Civic the cut out was 8400rpms but I could take it to 9K before it kicked in dont worry I bet u were just about to hit it.

I just hate that when some fool tries to take you on the onramp and you bury the needle in the red zone.

I had some fool in an OLD Toyota convertible Celica, who tried this. He actually got the jump on me. And I just let him go. Wasn't nothing to prove.

But I might have cleaned out the carbon and hit 7200...But I doubt it... that could a been in my mind.

Perhaps he saw the cf spoiler and decided to shut himself down before he was real embarrassed.
