wow !! if you are going 25 over the speed limit you are not legible for traffic school. if you have to attend court , last time i check was around 200 + court fees which makes it almost triple the amount . also check to make sure if they market traffic violetion .

I once had a ticket for 75 in a 45 as well as Exhibition of Speed and Speed contest. Due to everything tacked on, the ticket was around $800. As well as 2 points on my license. I have definitely learned a lot in the last 7 years since.

If you had a radar detector your ticket would cost $0 they work and will pay for themselves very fast.

i have a v1. he didn't get me on radar, but the problem was, i was in a "speed contest" with another car, and he let me off with just the speeding ticket, and nothing else. So i have a feeling that despite his not having used radar, i still don't have good grounds to fight the ticket on.

it could of been worse if you think about it . Some cops can be punks..

Funny thing is I too had a radar detector when I received my 2 point ticket. If they see you and think you are speeding then you are speeding.

Oh shit you were in a speed contest, the new law in LA county says they take your car forever if they see you doing it.

Yeah luckily this was when I was 17 so the law wasn't quite as strict 8 years ago.

it is completely unlawful/unconstitutional for the local govt. to confiscate private property...just my opinion

good question...can't the government, state or local, take away private property? and do they have to have a cause and reason if so?

All I know is that is the new law in LA, the first day it went into effect they got to guys street racing and their cars were confiscated forever. I didnt think they had the power to take cars forever but apparently they do.

Actually it is a new CA law that allows them to confiscate a vehicle in a speed contest. Obviously more technical than that but they now have entirely too much power.

i understand the safety reason behind it, to protect others and for people to think about it twice before a speeding contest on the streets . But to go a bit xtreme and takes some ones vehicle is a bit to much ....
