2004 Evo - Specs?

Does anyone know what changes are being made to the 2004? I've heard about leather seat option...anything else?

Most reliable sources ive talked to say it's staying exactly the same but im assuming theyre fixing whatever recalls they had on the '03. Theres supposed to be an RS and theres rumors of an MR but well find out in April...I think.

Just talked with some of my boys in the UK. they are getting the MR as the "regular" Evo. Supposed to have higher redline, better mid and top end (same max power) and less weight (aluminium roof). Also, leather seats....Mitsu wants to destroy the STI salesover there.....Guess I might have to wait to buy one versus the 2003 model.

how are STI sales doin there anyways? also...is the 2.0L sti that they sell in the UK, correct? hehe

I believe there are doing about a 800 t0 a 1000 units per year.....and yeah they get the 2.0.

Seems like there won't be any major changes other than the optional 7 speaker Infinity speaker system and optional leather Recaros.

Last time we were at Mitsu headquarter, some rep said we won't be getting the MR anytime soon.

Ya the mitsu rep at the mistu head quarter meeting said that the MR is only in the uk and not to expect it here.

Actually, the MR is going all over the world...it's already in Japan and should be in other parts of the world by April 2004. The MR price will be about the same as the 03 EVO VIII in the UK. I bet we at least get the engine upgrade (higher redline, better mid and high rpm pull)......hopefully the aluminium roof.

Really thats why the head guy at mitsu told us that its only in europe right? considering how long it took mitsu to bring the evo here, how must of the people are destroying them and whinning about 6k clutch drops and there broken clutchs, and that there not selling to well id be suprised if we get the 9.

I think the 2004 Evo RS is like $2500 cheaper than the 03, and 150lbs lighter than the 03. it has sway bar. they stripped the AC,Power Lock, power window, radio off. oh yeah no wings, HID, fog light if im not mistaken. also the stripped all of the carpet thingy inside the trunk maybe left only the lower carpet between your trunk and the space to put the spare tire

yeah its gonna be very HOT to drive in that without AC during the summer hehehe but they are all optional as you can add em at additional cost but that destroy the whole purpose of making it about 150lbs more or less lighter than the 03.
