Hey guys, I've done my head light mod today and it was so easy to do it. I dont even have to put the headlight inside the oven and cooked it. I only used a heat gun. It took me about 30 minutes per headlight to take the lens out from the housing. All in all, the process took me 3 hours. Here are some pics.

props man! that looks very time consuming...since most of us dont have that much time on hand you could prolly get paid to do the mod for them! now is that paint no flammable and heat resistent?

I guess if any fellow Evo owner want to do it, I wont charge anyone that much. I will be glad to help my fellow Evo owner instead. I used 2 coats of black primer with no sanding needed and followed by 2 coats of Dupli-color engine enamel ceramic that you can just buy at any Autozone, Pepboys for about $5.

Noel, that looks awesome. Was it hard removing the front bumper? I have to remove mine to fix the bottom lip. It's coming off on one end.

The front bumper are so easy to remove, Rob. It only took me 5-7 minutes to take them off.

Noel, if I send you my headlights from VA, would you be willing to help me out? I would love to have the blacked-out headlights, but there's no one out here to do them. My car will be in the shop for a little while for the bumper replacement, so I'll have some Evo downtime to send them. Let me know! PM me if you'd like. Thanks in advance...

Chris

How is the seal once you get them painted and put back together Noel? I'd be worried about geting moisture in there...has there been any issues of condensation inside the housing once this mod has been done? Any instances of water collection at all?

i did the black outs before it rained pretty hard out here and im still not getting the least bit of condensation...i was worried about that too. i guess the silicon seal works pretty damn good.

So far, I havent hear any problem from them. The seal was good and there were no moist or condensation after painting and putting them back.
