i dont think thats an evo, thats like a lancer conversion to evo. anyhow sorry if im wrong though.

got a mag from my friend whom just got back from his homeland and brought me this auto mag and the front page featuring this same car and I asked him whether is that an evo and he said its just a conversion of evo but not really an evo

anyhow I could be wrong here, just my .02

The Evo has been in a WRC slump-The reason?. While the EVO VII and the EVO VIII are better street cars, they are NOT better rally cars. Mitsubishi opted for the bigger and heavier design while the competition got lighter and more compact. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WEIGHT-Every pound translates to seconds that slowly add up in the three days of continuous driving. Without any great drivers and a true light weight design, Mitsubishi will remain in a slump. I miss the days of Tommi Mackinan, and his four year domination in the WRC rally circuit. Proud to know that he was driving an EVO.

thats a pretty car, honestly i want to learn how i can meet people internationally for racing these cars....i dunno, but i think being a rally racer on the side it would be interesting, and a good experience in driving

Actually, that IS an EVO... and it will do pretty good in WRC this year... in 2003 the season was pulled because of the crappy WRC car which was based on the Lancer, not EVO.

6th place isn't bad for it's first outing....considering that the car currently has no sequential shift or electronic drivers aides.

It is an Evo. Afterall this rally car is just as much an Evolution of the Lancer chassis as our Evo's.
