If you plan to switch out your cat for a test pipe at the track or regularly, take off the nuts at the rear of the cat since they are brass. I think Mitsu did this on purpose so those nuts would strip after you did this a few times.

You can replace them with steel 12mm x 1.25 (thread) nuts that fit 3/4" sockets.

you can also use the clamps that BR uses for there Turbo backs, saving you time when you decide to swap your test pipe at the track.

V bands are an extremely elegant solution. With these, there are no leaks, they don't come loose and the bands are very easy to take on and off- only 2 bolts total to remove your cat for track days!

You have to get 2 bands and 4 weld on sleeves. There are no gaskets to ever replace etc. I would like to do all my ic connections, wastegate and turbo outlet this way except for the cost.

I saw those in an earlier post...Where would I take them to get welded? Any ideas?

California Muffler off rosenkranz or rre. Muffler shops can do it cheap if you can find one that will touch your cat to weld the end flanges.

stainless steel v-band clamps are nice, but pricey.

Without a doubt the way to go if you plan on swapping components out all the time.

freelancewest exhuast & lance laughlin fabrication, both in oc sells them to. I think the flanges go for $65 bucks & 10 or 15 bucks for a stainless clamp.

If you go with a v band set-up, get the clamps from the place you buy them from. Some vendors may use a a 62 deg angle, while others 65 deg. Although you can squeze either clamp on, they just are a p.i.t.a. if its a mis-match when removing.
