Hey people. Im new to this forum and im glad i found it. Im 17 years old and ive wanted this car for a long time now (actually, ever since i got my license) My main concern about this car is the insurance cost. Im not sure how much it runs for, and if its reletivaly better then other cars. Sorry if this is a noob question, but is it less expensive compared to a two door coupe, considering its a 4 door sports sedan. Or do insurance companies know this is a fast ass car, and dont care if its a 4 door car. How much would you expect insurance would cost me on this car (probably the 2003 model) feed back is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
A.K.

Just do a quote request on Geico.com. That should give you a good idea since they are pretty inexpensive.

Hell ya insurance knows im 19 and take it in the ass for insurance, insure the car under your mom that solves the problem. If you cant your fucked budy cause im sure you want full coverage and thats mad expensive.

Well yea, i know its going to be expensive. Its only obvious, im under 18 and a male. But thats not the point. Everything for me is going to be expensive, no matter what car. But what i want to know is if the Evo is more or less expensive compared to other cars. For example a 2 door coupe. Anybody know about this stuff?

I'll let you know tomorrow what the difference is between an RSX Type-S and the Evo VIII. From everything I've heard, my insurance should go down, but we'll see.

I had a 300zx TT before this car and my insurance rates dropped. They went from 155$ a month to 90$ a month, full coverage, etc etc.

Couple reasons:

- 4 door vs 2 door
- 4 cylinder vs V6

At least, that is what I suspect.

Back in '93, I was 21 with a brand-new Mustang Cobra. My monthly payment for the car was $350; my monthly payment for insurance was $320... I understand...

Now I am 31 and I pay $1460/year for full coverage and it covers $10K in mods, too. It pays to be old sometimes. Plus, younger chicks still go for us older guys...

I'm 21, when I just got my car, the rate was $900 for every 6 month. Then my insurance agent informed me that they just updated the records for the EVOs and my premium went up to $2000/ 6 months.

Wow... I would sell the EVO if I had to pay 4000/year on insurance.

My insurance went down $60 per 6 months over the Type-S for the exact same coverage. Mercury had Evo rated as a 21 and the RSX Type-S as a 22 .... higher is worse.

Oh well, at least it didn't go up!

I pay 100 per month full coverage. I am also an old git (as some of you may already know).

It helps if you have multiple cars, motorbikes, house insurance etc etc.

You young guys are getting bent over. I'm 34, and pay $1400/year for full coverage. I remember how much I paid when I was 21 driving a GTI....there are perks to getting older =)
