OK wise ones. This should get quite a few divergent opinions. I'm thinking of upgrading the bump sticks. From ACTUAL experience what should I consider in light of the fact that I actually drive my EVO to work! I have the APS 330 upgrade and an IC with piping. When (not if) I win the lottery I will be upgrading the turbo and manifold. What do you suggest and what can I expect? 264's, 264/272, 272's?

Pure track = 272's the only place they outperform the 264's is above 7K the mix and match was an attemt by the DSM'ers the overcome the weak exhaust flow in the 1G/2G heads..EVO don't need it ricky...

264/272 provides midrange and top end . Given you a bit of both , thats the reason Works came out with the 269/269 .
Its a good combination. If you dont mine the ruff idle (exept if you run EMS )
264/264 are great , but the 272/272 are not as bad as people think they are to have on a daily driven. If you went with Jun, Tomei or piper cams then is a different story since the duration may not be much but the lift :yikes: ....

My friend out here, the DC Evo Club admin, Aaron, has the 272/272 combo. I am not sure about top-end, etc., but that idle sounds absolutely incredible... He has had no driveability problems, either.

Bill is running 272/272 with stock ecu (for the mean time  ) and has no problems with the car .
Even running 264/272 and theres no problems on a daily driven.
I could only imagine if you were running a bigger cam and not having the right valvetrain and passing rev limiter then you would approach to issues .

My car has straight 272's and I drive it 250 miles a week. Idles fine, a gorgeous lope but rock steady, sounds awesome. Driveability is great.

Thanks everyone.I'm a sucker for the sound of a good lope. I will try 272's all the way around. Any estimate on HP gain or is it just shifting the power band. I take it you have to adjust the timing accordingly? I will most likely have Brainstorm do it so I'm sure it will get done right.

BTW, I'm excited to meet you guys now that we have been exchanging thoughts.I will hopefully see you at an upcoming meet.
