DEFI guages...

yo man...i feel dicked...i bought the defi guages today for 75 bucks a pop...EGT, boost and oil pressure. but then when i took it to one of my boys' shop...he said that i needed the defi control monitor unit to go with all defi guages!!!! is that true man, they wont work without it???

It depends which Defi gauges exactly, but if it is any of the Defi Link System or BF series then yeah you need the Control Unit II to plug the sensors into. The gauges then are wired in series.

I use the Defi Link System with the Control Unit II, 52mm boost gauge, 8 different sensors that all go to the Defi Display.

they're the defi 52mm black faces...so you think i should get the control unit

i was told that the BF series 60mm guages needed the control unit not the D series 52mm...which are the ones i got

Ah, well the D series gauges are standard analog gauges. Only the D series tachometer requires a control unit and I think it comes with it.

Arent those discontinue ???
Since now the new ones offer by Defi which we are all familiar with or have seen them required the Link system (which earlier models didnt )

D series is not discontinued. I sell them still.

oh , i have been told by several shops ( or vendors ) that they don't carry them anymore. With the D - serious , which are analog gauges not requiring to use the link system.
An if so how much are you able to get them , and do they offer air/fuel gauge ??

rob...the guy i got them from bought them from totalled his car and hes crippled bro...so he gave them to me just to get rid of them...they're normally in the 150 range, i know. but a friend of mine needs some defi D guages too...how much if he were to buy them from you??

nah , EGT attents to be one of the most expensive gauges out there .
Im interested on Boost, oil psi and oil temp . (if not then i can replace for air/fuel gauge ) 3 the most for me heheh....

You're not going to get EGT?? I would definately get EGT over oil pressure.

u should just go with boost, egt, and oil pressure...cant go wrong there bro. but i agree with rob, egt is a must.
