I was surfing around the nasioc boards and found this thread amuzing. I guess if put the basic mods on a STI they blow up well al least quit a few have. I guess both the EVO and STI have weepoints but i will replace a clutch over a motor anyday

The STi is an overrated car. The bigger boxer (EJ257) engine is not suitable for high compression without a lot of ECU overhead. It's timing advance is too harsh and so the engine has to pull back harder when it senses knock. I have seen EVO's with minor mods beat stock STi's all the time. I can pull a car length on a stock STi with just my P2 flash.

too funny. The funnier part is, a LOT more people know about the STI than they know about the existance of the Evo. I always hear people saying, what kinda car do u have? WHen i say evo, they go, oh why didnt u get the wrx? I say "u mean the sti"? Ya i guess. Ur car is 2ws right? Im like no its awd. What is it ram air? Im like, no u fool, its turbo. Really? No one really knows about the evo. Im not sure if htats good or bad. Im just glad to see its such a better car than the sti. Only for the simple fact that wrx and sti owners are always talkin smack about the evo.

wow that sucks.. either/or whatever car comes out on top. a consumer should never have results that equal a car like that. that guy dished out just as much money as we did for our cars. so he should have a car that doesn't sound like a demon from. Ju On. i think the movie is called.

i have real sympathy for people who invest a lot of money in their cars and have to deal with something as dramatic as engine damage. i mean i have body damage, buts its no where near as bad as your engine. the only conselation is knowing what your getting into when your modifying your car to such extremes. i mean Robi's car is freakin badass, and i know he knows that he will at some point have to deal with a major catastrophe (god forbid) but its part of the game.
