I need to change my fluids and not sure exactly which ones need to be done.

The car has around 7500 miles...

Any help on this would be great.

I suppose you could change the tranny, and diff fluids although they dont need changing till 15k because of this huge magnetic bolt that collects the shavings. But the shifts will deff be smoothier.

Tranny = Penzoil Syncromesh (from Autozone $5/ea.) or you can use GM Syncromesh (from GM dealer $9/ea.). Need 3 qts. Or you can use Redline MT-90 but from all my research showed people having better results with syncromesh stuff.

Diffs = Redline 75w-90 (from Mesa Performace in Costa Mesa $8/ea.) Need 2 qts.

Josh from HB told me to rock mobil 1 for the tranny and diff because thats exactly what they rock in the rally cars.

I have just done both of these with mobile in the T-case and diffs and redline in the tranny works well little less of a rattle noise on decel.

my advice,
read direct FIRST.
Get one of those cheap manual oil pumps.
get a breaker bar those fill pulgs are jamed in like no ones business.

My observations....

The evo may be twice the car the WRX was but goddamn do i hate evo engineers none of the shit is easy to get to or work on. On the subie there was not a bad wrench placement on the car. Like say the transmition Mitsu- terrible wrench position skined knuckle and could not easily leverage frozen fill plug, Subie fill through dipstick hole that was wide eoungh to fit funnel...

what about motul for tranny oil??? i went with a 50/50 synthetic blend in my wrx, and couldn't really feel a difference. i'd probably stick with dino oil.

for your car go with all redline stuff, shock proof lightwieght in the rear and the MT90 fluid.

You should notice it clean up alittle

i will go with Mobil 1 as well , is one of the best for the price . unless you plan to go all out on fluids then Motul, Amzoil come in to mind ....

I'll second the Amsoil: Series 2000 75W-90 all around.

Redline Fluids Rock [period]

Since you don't change the tranny fluid often, it's worth spending a few dollars more for the improved shifting. Most other over the counter prodcts (Mobil1, Penz, etc) are sufficient.... However, "Sufficient" is not what our cars are all about.

My 2 cents for what it's worth,

Jason

you can get redline from summitracing for 5.99 a quart. for all the fluids.
