Just coming up on 3000 miles and need to get the oil changed for the first time. Does anyone have any recomendations as to which dealer can provide me a tech that knows what he is doing? I understand it is only an oil change, but I would like to start with and use the same place for all my service needs. I live in Laguna Niguel (south orange county). Thanks for the heads up! 8)

either them or this EZ lube place that knows me and my car. they do good work and let you watch and inspect everything they do on the car.

ya.. if you change it yourself.. it comes out to be about $22 bucks an oilchange. Can't beat that!

sounds cheap to do it myself, but I am looking to have it logged by a dealer in my maintence book.

If you keep your receipts from the oil and filter purchase, that is enough to validate your warranty, if that is what you are worried about :D .

I am mostly worried about when i go to sell the car. Most people wanted to see the records when I sold my 240sx. I guess I am just paraniod :banghead:

Mobil 1. All the way. And use a factory filter. Also don't forget to rotaote those tires every 5000.

just recently went to Huntington Beach Mitsubishi for my first oil change at 3500 miles. Had the pit pass so didn't have to pay a penny. They also rotated the tires which helped because before, under braking my car shook a little. Now its fixed. I would never trust EZ lube or Jiffy lube. I used to work at one of those places and the employee are scandalous. They would use Mobil 1 in their own cars then just fill up the bottles using regular oil from the gun and fake the funk when someone requested synthetic oil. Besides this story there are others that will make you think twice.

I had an EZ Lube do an oil change for me once before, and they over tightened my oil filter causing the gasket to be crushed which created a massive leak of oil when I drove home. Can't say that I will be going back anytime soon....
