Pacific Coast Highway & Crystal Heights Drive
Newport Beach, CA 92657

Tomorrow there is a mini-meet in the Crystal Cove Promenade in Newport Beach. All the local people bring there cars out. !!Bring a camera!! You'll see the new Carrerra GT, ENZO, Ferraris, Lambos, Classics, and alot of other cars. It's great, I'll be there this Saturday, if anyone want to meet up just let me know.

The best way and it’s a nice drive to, take the 405S, to 73 south, exit Jamboree go down to Jamboree and make a right, take Jamboree all the way down to PCH and make a left, follow PCH past Newport Beach, Past Newport Coast Dr. about two miles past Newport Coast Dr. you will see the Crystal Cove Promenade, it’s the only shopping center in that area.

it starts at 6:30am and ends around 9:30 or 10am

my number is --- if you need help getting there.

its actually every saturday am. to be able to display your car (free) you must be there before 7 am. but they are tight people. my friend who had a blown Z was told that he couldnt rev his shit, even though the shitbag old muscle cars had open exhausts..

nevertheless, the place is pretty nice. and i saw (glimpse) of the GT as it took off. safe to say, it sounded like an F1 car.

The show is a weekly thing. I am there most weekends....but I usually drive my 61 Austin Mini over. The event is an unofficial thing. The local richies who live on the hill (in the $2.5mill houses) behind the shopping center have been complaining about the noise. So much so, that the shows future is in jeopardy. That is why they didn't want your friend revving his car....it is early in the morning afterall. Would you want people revving their engines outside your bedroom window?

Even if people arrive at 7-7:30 you can still park near each other. The center part of the lot is the show and is filled up within 10 minutes of the lots opening. But the rest of the lot is usually peppered with nice cars also and most people walk the whole lot looking for hidden gems...

true revving was wrong, but it wasnt near as loud as the idle of the gutless, straight-exhaust muscle cars.

that said, i do not condone showing off 8)

Yah, I hear ya. I guess it's rare that I hear anyone needlessly revving their engines (in the 10 or so times I have been there). Most people try to tiptoe into the show so as not to wake the millionaires. Some people do really lay down the rubber on their way out of the show though!

the Porsche GT took off that saturday and they didnt reprimand him

Well, how can they yell at a guy who is already leaving the show? The only punishment that can be given is to kick a guy out of the show...he was already doing that on his own!

The rule is that there is no revving allowed at the show. There isn't much they can do if you rev while you are on the public street on your way home. And most don't care either since it's usually 10am by the time everyone leaves....most people are awake by that time.

Yeah - I went and had a lot of fun. The GT40 and Carrera GT weren't there, but pretty much everything else was... Way cool! Different than Donut Derelict's, but just as fun.

Anything extra exciting or rare pop up at the last meet (28th)?

My intention was to make it however I totally spaced on the fact it was also one of my brothers' B-Day. Who the hell wakes up at 6:30-7am to go to Valencia for Six Flags? :)

I didn't go last week (couldn't wake up  ), but someone told me there was a yellow Carrera GT, and some cool classic cars. I'll try to make it tomorrow.
