I am going to be installing this set up tonight on my car. Are there any tricks I should know before I start? :skid:

Yes! Trick yourself into thinking you have low end torque. ;)

Be prepared for the plastic retainers inside the airbox to break off. The studs hold the MAFS. That was the biggest pain in the ass when I did mine. Two of the nuts broke loose but the studs broke loose on the other two, use a cresent wrench to hold them.

and dont touch the honeycomb!

best way for the studs, is to go slow! dont go crazy on the wrench!!!

Thanks for the input. Install went smooth as butter with the exception of the bolts for the air flow sensor. three out four came off without a hitch, but the forth one was a pain in the ass. impact tools work great. does anyone know how much it is going to cost to replace the airbox assembly?

The Stock Evo8 Airbox costs $69.95 at mitsu dealer parts. Part number
MN153356 includes the four studs for the MAS and four clips.
