Hey all, MINI owner here... with a tire question for the EVO experts...

I'm looking for some new tires right now, and have narrowed them down to a couple of my favs... Let me know what you guys think. Anyone had experience with these tires? I heard they're both good all around tires, but more people in the MINI community prefer the Toyo Proxes 4's... I'm a friend of Rob's (Coolguy949), so I thought I'd drop in here and ask you guys :D

Thanks!

I just finished reading a thread about recommendations for our EVOs and for maximum performance the following were recommended:

Yokohama A046 (our stock tires)
Bridgestone S03
Toyo RA1

I would buy the maximum street (dry) performance tire I could get. I've gotten cheaper tires in the past and regretted not paying more for the better ones. You could theoretically have the tires for a year or more. That's alot of driving time to be dissatisfied/disappointed.

Ziexs came on my EVO when I bought it used. The tire has good feel until u peush the limits it will slide out on you, but its a contoled slide, If you are able to learn throttle control it will lead to great drifting :) !!! I now have R-A 1 tires.

LOL nice! Well, drifting is a bit harder in a front wheel drive car than an EVO 8)

The Falkens will last longer, 360 treadlife versus 300 treadlife... depends on how often you want to change tires.

The falkens are probably less grippy than the Toyos.

I have the Toyo Proxies 4 and so far they work very well. Treadware, it's ok for now I've guess, I've only put 3,000 miles to it so won't know how the treadware is till I put at least 15,000 miles onto my tires.

Personally, I'd select the Toyo over the Falkens.

The Proxies are more of a performance tire. The Ziexs will last longer, for a mini the Ziexs will work fine and last longer.
