Thule and Yakima do not have the Lancer Evolution models listed in their roof mounted rack fit websites, however they do have the Lancer 4dr. Anybody know if the dimensions are the same on a Lancer versus an Evo for a roof mounted rack?

I just bought the missing Q clips for my Yakima rack Q83 and Q102 (for the Lancer). I may try mounting the rack this weekend to see how it fits. If I do I'll report back.

I bought the yakima setup made for the lancer 4 door and used the same installation specs as the lancer also. Everything fit very well.

If it can hold a 50 lb 11.5 foot kayak it will hold anything :D

I have used it all last winter for snowboarding. Holds 4 boards just fine. The clips may leave slight blemishes due to stress. But they are pretty small so i dont care.

And here I thought I was the only EVO with a ski/snowboard rack. Damnit..Im sure im still the only idiot with a kayak on top thought

I think you are the only with a kayak on the rooftop

Anyways, i plan on getting a Thule rack. I had a fairing on my previous car, but i still had a shitload of windnoise from the ski racks since they just stick up in the air. Anybody try driving with and without their fairing? Is it worth the extra $50 for it?

Ya, I first went w/out the fairing and wind noise was pretty bad. The fairing quieted things down noticeably IMO.

So worthwhile to spend an extra few bucks for the fairing then huh?

I would say so. If you want, I can let you try it out on your racks at one of the future meets.

Thanks dude! But first, i need to buy a rack which will probably be done closer to ski season :P
On my old Honda, i had a fairing, but also had some ski carriers mounted which stuck up in the air and still made a lot of noise with the fairing on. I never drove it without the fairing on, so i can't make any comparisons. Do you have ski carriers by any chance on your rack?

Wow, that rocks! Thanks for the heads up. However, i am looking for a Thule rack most likely. Anybody know when/where they have Thule rack sales?

Go to thule.com first to see how much theyre selling rack so you can have idea if it is cheaper when you go to any bicycle store. Here is mine when I went to the meet at Laguna Niguel park. Subgraphic took a shot.

That looks sweet with the bikes on there. Although the kayak adds more aerodynamics to the Evo from the previous post
