Will the oil/chemicals (oil treatments, etc.) have an effect on the carbon? That would be my only concern. A lot of fiber-based polymers have chemical reactions...
I used epoxy. This stuff is bulletproof to solvents, oil etc. acetone doesn't faze it.

2.8-AGAIN(any Idea how much?)
Less than a hundred... how about $90- $100 with hoses. They are shrink wrapped with perforated heat shrink and then wrapped in a bleeder material and then vacuum bagged- all after being wetted out. Tapped for barbs and threaded + coated inside with extra layer of epoxy.
I just figured materials and can sell this batch of 10 at $80 by itself or $85 with hoses so the cancel the previous price.

How do you check how full it is?

Kinda stupid but ive never used one so how would you empty it or whatever is needed to maintain it?
Take it off and turn it upside down. It could be plumbed for a drain or site line but more connections = more cost and not necessary. I can install it for you.

looks good man but rob has a good point...
How do you check how full it is?
You guys are tough! Okay, here is what we can do:
I can cast a clear resin line running up the side so you can see... I personally think it isn't necessary but if folks want it then I can make them that way. I can also drill and tap and install a drain valve but it will add a little to the cost.
Then you can have the choice of a basic version and deluxe I guess.
I can get the price down if we have 20 +

If you can help me mount it, count me in. My only concern was the chemical reaction.
Chris,
I already figured a carbon mount so if you stop by we could put it on.
Here is a photoshop for folks wanting a site tube- cast into the side:

Count me in for sure Mark, how about a Carbon CAI for ppl still running the MAF ;D?
Working on that one with robi. We will make a maf stock turbo version and may have a batch produced if there is enough interest. I will fit the prototype non-maf version on my car and see if it does anything first.
It should be interesting if I can log any differences in intake temp etc compared to the shortram blitz I am running now.

I'm interested in the CAI for the stock turbo/MAF, too.
I am going to go ahead and build 10 of these- first come first serve once they are built. No deposit nonsense. I will post probably this weekend or next week when they are done.
Two versions:
NO CAST SITE TUBE VERSION
Price: $80 by itself or $85 with hoses.
CAST SITE TUBE VERSION
Price: $100 by itself or $105 with hoses.
Bracket isn't included.
I will try to make a carbon bracket that can be included but cannot guarantee that at this time till I see how much time/cost is involved. Shouldn't be a big deal though.
