Anyone use their iPod in their Evo?

Just got an iPod and I'm anxious to get it hooked up in my car somehow. Since the stock head unit sux, I was thinking that this was a good time to switch it out. Alpine makes a great head unit, plus they have an adapter, so I'm thinking of going that route.

Does anyone have any experience with that or any others? My brother has tried the fm-radio adapter with little satisfaction, as well as the tape adapter, so I'm looking for something that can offer a bit more sound quality.

I have a after-market HU that has and auxiliary input, that's what I use for my iPod.

so you maintain control through your ipod? (ie, opposed to being able to control track/playlist selection through your head unit)

oh, and can you give me some specifics on where you got the wiring to hook up the ipod (what it's called, where you got it, how much it was, etc.).

Oh, yeah, I use the iPod directly. If I was ever to get a new HU however, it would probably be a model that could connect to and control the iPod.

Nothing fancy was used just a Monster iCable for iPod (or any 1/8" stereo mini plug to RCA cable) and plugged it into the AUX ports on the HU.

Then that gets plugged into an iPod dock that sits on the center console (I'll take pics later). I just dock the iPod when I want to use it.

I got the cable from The Good Guys, retails for $29.95.

perfect, but that wont work with the stock unit due to the fact that it has no aux outs?
