well, the whole tire falls out/off. i dunno how uyou can say that you cant tell what happens, and the first link to the STi board, or wherever that is, tells all about how the JIC broke in half basically

looks like the shock body was too high and kept bottoming..this causes all sorts of evil harsh mecanical skocks/stress cycling which could have work hardened the wheel carrier tube. note the shock should be low enough at the ride heights we run that the dampening shock would be buried in the area that's broken off. I think another Mis-install.

The last set of JICs I saw on a Subaru WRX, had just won the PGT class at Pikes Peak ProRally. They looked fine once the dried mud from rallying in the snow was cleaned off. Maybe set-up does play a role in strut-life as well as performance.

hmmmm.

sell enough struts and let enough jack asses intall them on enough different cars and one is bound to break sooner or later...

You cant make a statement like that are you really sure that in all the strut building world no one has ever done this before?

You have no way of knowing what was wrong with this strut and why it broke.

I mean crap I/my father have broken two bilstien struts on the 911 (one blew out the other cracked) Im sure if we drove around on the cracked one long enough this would have happened.

it seems that Evo owners and Subaru owners are the one that cry the most (it seems that way at times) when they have a problem , instead of trying to figure out what happen and how it can be fix. People jump into conclusions and are quick to post about it :?

I see a strut that was not screwed in deep enough into it's lower housing. The few threads that were engaged were not enough to hold it together. I dont see any broken parts.

Exactly what does the lynch mob see as the failure?
