Ok driving impressions as I promised. Keep in mind that I am coming from a Celica GTS that while handled well, needed to be rung out on the big cam about 6k to realyl move anywhere. And at that point.....where was I really moving (dyoed 169.1 to the wheels with CAI). My other ride is a 1977 vette with a crate motor (355hp 405tq). Now this thing moves.........but many times I am too scared to push it (suspension technology over 25yrs old).
So thats where I am coming from.........one good handled car with low power..........one car with great power but shitty handling. Now onto the MR. I will jsut post random thoughts in no order.
Aesthetics:
Love the exterior color and shifter. Love the seats, dark wing.
Hate the accesory gauges, clarity of the spedo/tach, have an squeaking noise from the top windsheild seal inside the cabin (having this looked at).
Handling:
Wow, very impressed, its on rails. It also takes bumps and road imperfections nicely. Its hard to describe. In all other cars I have owned I felt as if the suspension rebound (or lack there of) always translated somehow and angered the body. In the MR i felt as if the suspension was doin its job.........what a suspension should do. That is provide me the feedback I need, and letting the shocks take care of rest.
Power:
I drove an 03 evo about 1.5 years ago and never got into boost so thats my reference here. Also, only 240 miles on the car so I have not taken it over 4k and I have not gone more then 1/2 throttle. I have gotten into boost at half throttle around 3000rpms, feels nice. Once breakin is over.............then the fun begins.
Price:
I dont think it justifies 03 guys trading up...........but if you been waiting to pull the trigger on an Evo and waiting this long........go MR!
