I looking to buy lightweight lug nuts for Enkei RPF1s - anyone know where I can pick up a set of Zenki (not Enkiei) nuts (preferably on the West Side)?

nuts must be 12x1.5, 60 deg conical seat.

Here's an example:

thats a really good price for light weight nuts, why dont you purchase them on line :?
Skunk2 makes some as well but go for near as 85.00 just make sure you keep air tools away

I had issues with some lightweight lug nuts: they tend to come loose if you heat them up under serious driving conditions

I torqued them proper and then 2 came off. I am guessing because aluminum lugs and steel studs have different expansion rates... I am sticking to steel. The steel is much stronger.

Hey rather than the lugs what about a set two piece rotors to cut down the unsprung wieght? or take off your dust backing plate they have to weight more and cost less than the lugs.

i rather save weight on other areas then lugnuts, also lightweight get stripped so easily.
i prefer the kyougen(sp) there strong enough (except for the key but you can just order some extras) make sure you torque them properly and check them at all times (at least once a week) and after every session at the track. For the track like Mark has said i can only imagine having problems with them coming loose  and thats something is not worth risking.

I just use the steel lugs as well . I was given them with the volks and they work great.

My lightweight ones I had were RAYS: 2 came off + 7 others were loose... under extreme conditions though. I had the black ones.

H'mmm - interesting points. Perhaps I'll look for lighter weight open ended steel lugs. I could go to Westside Tire for that but I generally find them incompetent. I asked Stokes and the ones they had were exceptionally heavy.

I will be tracking the car but not as hard as GT40 (my brakes don't have to slow it down from mach 0.9).

I wouldnt think the weight of the lugs would make enough of a difference for you to notice since the weight is extremely close to the hub instead in the outer wheel area.

you are right about the rotational forces but its still a cut in unsprung wieght to go with those wheels and tires in that size he has probably cut 5-7 lbs off each corner why not shoot for another 5oz.

Okay fine, total weight savings per corner is 23g*5 = 115g = 4oz. Pretty minor but I figured it was worth asking.

Anality doesn't pay attention to logic.

Comon Dave 5 oz. Why not drive naked and save a little there as well. Or perhaps shave your head to save a couple ozs there.

In all seriousness I found some cheap, lightweight, steel, conical lug nuts from Autozone for only $0.75/nut. Total weight saved vs. the stockers: 1.87 lbs.
