Based on ALL the overwhelming responses & insight, I have decided to give the above mentioned tires a try.

They should be mounted up next week, then drive down to rre for an alignment.

$540 installed, OTD.

Avon, I beleive it's listed in the sublect of this thread. The Avon tire company are known for their racing motorcycle tires worldwide & also thier car tyre in europe.

I like the fact I can do a traditional tire roatation, with a decent performing tire. I dont plan to track this car & if I do, then I will deal with being slow.

I just got a call, the tires are in. I will wait to get them mounted till my alignment appointment is made , decided by rre / mueller based on availability / workload.

Hopefully it's soon!

I just sent john an email.

Got the Avon M500's on with 125 miles on the tires. Initial impression after alignment by RRE.

Grip- Not very far behind the advan on city streets as I was expecting. When the tires are very cold, the M500's are better. Once warm, obviously the advans are better, but not as much as I was expecting, which makes me happier.

ride- The ride is softer, with that, I can feel the car progressing through it's weight transfer. Doesnt feel like a crown victoria or anything, I just now feel some roll. However, the tire shop did comment how stiff the sidewall was. They said the m500 sidewall was definately stiffer than a RE750 or ES100. The car isnt as harsh over all the imperfections in the road as well. Take that for what its worth.

noise- Definately a lot quieter. I didnt realize how annoying the advans were in this category, regardless of speed.

Steering response- Yeah, it's not like the advan, but not that far off, pleasantly suprised actually. Besides, if I have a pedestrian jump out in front of my car, I plan to run them over anyway.

All in all, I am happy with the new tires so far. I dont plan on tracking the car, so they suit my purpose just fine.

Any updates on the tires?

Really happy with them so far after ~1000 miles. Super quiet, decent dry grip, slightly softer ride.

Wet driving has been good. Didnt really drive the car w/ Advans in the tourental rain, so cant really compare. Driving in the huge rains 2 weeks ago in socal, I didnt have any issue's hitting standing water on the 405 @ speed.

I did try screwing around in light rain & the car didnt want to step out! With the advans, it was quite easy to get the car sideways with the same throttle application.

I dont have any regrets getting the M500's.
