I am in the process of getting some new rims in 17x 8.5 with a 30 offset. I need some expert advise on the differences between considering a 30 or 40 offset. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each.

I am planning on throwing on some 255 40 17 RA1's. I am pretty sure the tires will fit with this set up on the stock suspension, but what happens when I throw on some coilovers and the car is subsequently lowered.

I also have a question for John@RRE on what he would recommend for track tires and sizes on the 30 offset setup. I know some of these questions come up, but the discussions get cut short and not all questions get answered.

Thanks, Gnulooks...

this has been cover many times and John M. has responded to this type of question.
The best way would be getting a 17x8.5 +40 off set rim, and you can run 255/40/17's even with Muellerized JIC's. (you need to make sure you check the back for clearance) or to make sure you can rolled the rear fenders.
Works the best !!!!
for track and for the street
