View Full Version : SAFC II JACKED UP??? WHY?

Back Ground:

I had my SAFC II installed and running for about 1-2 month now! I been to the track, been on canyon runs, ran it hard and soft everywhere i went! My car runs fun, but latly at night it has been running a little rich so i lead it out and it was fine.

Today i was helping a friend install his SAFCII using my wiring to match his. We installed a Walbro Fuel pump before that. We did a test drive and started to get fuel cut at 4500 RPM. We coudln't figuare out why. So he took off teh SAFC II, since he was going to have some real pros tune it the next day.

Here is the problem:

He just bought a Data Logger so we were going to try it on my car. WIREDEST FUC*ING THING I STARTED TO GET FUEL CUT AT 4500 RPM now too....

after that i frist re did my whole wiring sottering again and it was good job. But still have the problem.......

My Question:

HOW THE FUC* CAN I HAVE A FUCKED UP CAR, WHEN I WAS AT STREETS OF WILLOW RUNNING FINE, CANYON RUNS, AND DRIVING W/ NO PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST FEW MONTH, AND ALL OF NO WHERE ITS ALL FUCkED UP?????

That's weird. Where are your Ne points, throttle points and %settings (hi & low)? What do the logs look like? Are there any codes?

Ne Points at stock setting, hi low is at 60/30, log doesn't matter cause it get it at 0....

What pins are you using on the ECU harness and where do they go on the AFC? You read the diagram from the perspective of the ECU and not the plug right?

25 = Grounds Brown frist then BLack
25 = Red
58 = Green
90 = Pink in Orange Out
84 = Brown
78 = Purple
Blue, Yellow, and White not used!

What sensor type do you have selected in the AFC setup, and does the monitor mode show the RPM and Corr changing?

shows rpm change, Corr only at low RPMs and from -2 to 0

hi/lo 60/30, Ne Point at stock.

The Konck never reads over 0x

the stupid thing is i had my car at EOC ran good, and ran it the day before yesterday. And all i did last night was to pull off the plugs to show the the wiring. didn't change anything...

Probably an ignition problem. Check the plug gap and set it to .026 and make sure the wires are all on tight.

What happens with the tach when it cuts out?

the tach i just stop right after the fuel cut...., the thing is that i ran it good the night before.... and eoc

Is it fuel cut or misfiring? Does it feel like you hit something, or does it just cut out and stop revving?

it feels like it cuts out and stop revving, like blablahblabhlabhlabhlabhalbh sound and feels like my engine gives out at 4500

check the spark plugs, and everything is good. still have same thing. i dont smell anything wired, the engine sounds okay...

what hz are you getting from the maf? usually some of my buddies get fuel cut at 1700hz or so.

Damn, this is so weird. :shock:
Since you checked all the igntion stuff, the only things that I can think of is that it's sensor or ECU related.
Remove the AFC and reset the ECU?
Do the initialize thing on the AFC?
Has the ECU ever been reflashed?

Fixed the problem. Its not the wireing. it was the settings like many of you said =)

Was simply a RTFM problem. If you follow any of the AFC FAQs you will be fine.
