I searched for a thread from a while back about RA1s being sold at silly-low prices, but can't find it...something like $140 a tire. anyone know who was selling them at those prices? or anyone who sells them at a comparable price? my A032s are just about done I'd rather not spend $200 a tire.

aimtire.com has great prices but what kills you is the shipping , PM Dino (if he ever answers) he knows a place that sells them near the price the aimtires does (you save on shipping)

tires are between 160-165 for the 235's
and 145-150 for the 255's + shipping which can be near as $18.00 for each tire
I believe Dino found a spot that sells the RA1's for the same price that aimtire.com does
from aimtire.com (sometimes they have the 255's as low as 145.00 )
TOYO PROXES RA-1* 235* 40* 17* $164.95
TOYO PROXES RA-1* 235* 45* 17* $168.95
TOYO PROXES RA-1* 255* 40* 17* $163.95

do the 255s fit on 8.5" wheels without fender rolling?

on the Mueller JIC's, they won't fit in the rear. On a stock suspension, as i understand it, its fine

so if they rub with the JICs but not with stock suspension, that means it would be an issue with them rubbing on the actual coilovers and not a fender rubbing issue, right? I want to make sure, because I still plan to use all the wheel travel the stock suspension provides...

i believe Hallster has use them with the stock suspension (except for having the RRE alignment and rear sway bar) an he had no problems what so ever. It also depends which rims you are using, for example a stock rim that is 17x8 will not stretch or will not get the most width out of the 255's (which you will have no problems) if you compare them to a 8.5 rim which will get abit more out of the 255's.
you can look at the clearance that 255's have in a 17x8.5 +40 off set with coil overs here :

i dont think its rubbing the coilovers, the JIC's are actually much smaller that the stock suspension. i think its just the height setting that John sets them at. The car sits pretty low

DOH

so that means they'll hit the finders at full compression, which I very likely will be experiencing. damn.

look at the pics that i took, i have seen the suspension at full compression (whe you go up a drive way) you can check for clearance, mine had barly enough to clear but decided to roll the fenders anyways (since one side was done by the body shop awhile ago)

Sam, You can try the Dunlop SP Super Sport Race. They are pretty affordable in 18 inch set up and they are comparable with the RA1's (just with softer sidewalls). I'm pretty satisfied with mine.
