mitsu has never had an acceptable turning radius.
the eclipse is just as bad

I don't think it's all that bad... I've had cars with better and worse turning radii. if you think the evo's bad, try making a u-turn in a land rover discovery! it's gotta be like 45'!

I think the reason our turing radius sucks is because our steering is really quick and from lock to lock its only 2 turns.

Thats just a matter of steering ratio. F1 cars have INSANELY large (or small, not sure which, but its extreme) steering ratios. They barely turn the steering wheel and the tires turn a lot. Their lock to lock is like ½ turn.

the thing that limits sturning radius is the wheels rubbing the inside of the fender wells and suspension stuff getting in the way. If the manufacturor opened that stuff up or moved it out of the way, voila, they could make a car have a better turning radius.

yeah, my Evo has better turning radius than my old eclipse spyder conv.

Also - All wheel drive or front wheel drive cars seem to have a larger turning radius. I guess U joints don't like to be twisted too far while delivering power to move the car. Most rear drive cars I've experienced have much better radius'...radiusses...radios... radii! I knew geometry would teach me something
