some background:
didnt have any with the hks rs suction and stock bov.
added the mr dv had idle dips... (when coming to a quick stop)
went back to stock for a while (had to clear up some things with smog and registration), no dip.
changed to buschure upper i/c with 1g and hks rs suction and no safc. no idle issues.

always figured it was just the mr dv causing me trouble

recently installed the safc and went back to idle dips.
same as before, quick stops or if the ac (defrost, vent, ect) was on.

does anyone have similar issues?
im thinking now that its the intake since the 1g bov has given me no fuss.
im thinking about changing it out with the buschur pipe and filter.

any light on the subject would help.
interested in anyone with a similar set up:
hks rs suction, buschur upper i/c w/. 1g., catch can, safc.

nevermind guys
figure this speaks for it
"intakes will have funny idle and part throttle characteristics until you have the ECU flashed to accomodate them"

ill look into getting a friendlier intake (probably buschur) for my p2

On the SAFC, what do you have the low RPM, LO map settings at? What size injectors do you have?

everything should just be zero since it hasnt been touched
although i think sam threw the low rpm to 800 the other day.
i still have stock injectors and fuel pump.

Well raise up the LO map settings for the first couple of RPM points. You can also adjust the Base Idle Speed Set Screw on the Throttlebody to stabilize the idle.

i was thinking about the base idle screw too... but since it happens randomly i didnt think that would cure it much.
ill make some changes with the LO map
tom called me up and said his was doing the same thing with the injectors and fuel pump but you fixed it right up with your tune.

any more info on this? did messing with the lo map settings fix things more permanently?

It seemed to have helped mine. I used to have that problem and I also got the lean code (SES).

Hasn't happened since I changed the settings.

weve determined its the P2 flash is affecting the lean codes on the afc cars
