I've got the Blacked out Noel series lights with the yellow corner plastics removed... With the lights on the ugly yellowish bulbs next to the HIDs look a little shitty... Has anyone encountered the same peve and changed them out to something matching the HIDs a little better? See below picture

any japanese auto place (dunno if there are any near you) or super autobacs sells them.

i dont know if you also have a sunroof, but i dont on both evos and i also replaced the dome light with the capsule bulb (also there on that page) thats rated at 10w. i had turbolarry look at it on my car a while back and been trying to convince him to get one as well :D

Macky

if you buy that (dome light bulb) it comes in pairs, usually around 15 bucks. split it w/ someone who has no sunroof as well. those things last pretty long anyways.

Vanilla Sky

or use it for the backseat , yea?

Macky

nope.

the room dome light (center of cabin) is one tube-style bulb. the two map lights up front, plus the one in between, are all wedge bulbs.

so technically you are gonna buy three pairs (two of the wedge, one of the tube bulb), and after all is said and done, you will end up with an extra wedge and extra tube bulb :D

aren't those lights supposed to be yellow due to the law?

the front side markers i believe they should be, but the interior lights arent since you rarely have them on while driving :D

Vanilla Sky

Here is the Vehicle Code section for your reference....

It looks like it would be okay without the actual REFLECTOR.... but the main question is...

Is the light referenced in the 1st post considered "side mounted" or facing front???

If its facing front only it abides by section (a)
If its considered "side mounted" then it needs to be amber... according to section (b)

Of course we have side markers too.... but if the corner light falls under section b classification...... then it would need to be amber..

All this is subjective and would be up to the interpretation of the cop or court....

Turn Signal Lamps
24953. (a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal
of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white
or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber
light visible to the rear.
(b) Side-mounted turn signal lamps projecting a flashing
amber light to either side may be used to supplement the
front and rear turn signals. Side-mounted turn signal lamps
mounted to the rear of the center of the vehicle may project a
flashing red light no part of which shall be visible from the
front.
(c) In addition to any required turn signal lamps, any
vehicle may be equipped with supplemental rear turn signal
lamps mounted to the rear of the rearmost portion of the
driver’s seat in its rearmost position.
(d) In addition to any required or authorized turn signal
lamps, any vehicle may be equipped with supplemental rear
turn signal lamps that are mounted on, or are an integral
portion of, the outside rearview mirrors, so long as the lamps
flash simultaneously with the rear turn signal lamps, the
light emitted from the lamps is projected only to the rear of
the vehicle and is not visible to the driver under normal
operating conditions, except for a visual indicator designed to
allow monitoring of lamp operation, and the lamps do not
project a glaring light.
Amended Sec. 22, Ch. 945, Stats. 1997. Effective January 1, 1998.

I dont think that will work, I think the amber is built into the housing, and its a clear bulb.

I found the stealth bulbs at Pep Boys. I need to get some for my fronts now that I have them blacked out and removed the amber plastic lens.
