I wasnt exactly sure what to expect but they came out with perfectly even color and they even look good close up. I wish they would have come this way.

you took the outer lens (i guess thats what its called) off and painted the inside with transparent red paint right?

No I left the whole thing together. Masked off the turn signal and painted the outside.

Paiint works well. I was too lazy to buy tails so I did the same thing. I wont post pics because, well all evo 7 tails look the same.

what paint did you use????
I am debating on using vinyl or paint, paint seems to look clearer and cleaner.

Autobacs has some special lens paint or you can goto a hobby store and get a candy red spray paint that works well.

I think the paint from the Hobby store (Testors) actually lays alot smoother than the Autobacs stuff.

I bought a can of that stuff too, but I ended up just buying real VII lights before ever taking it out of the packaging. if anyone wants to buy it from me at the sparco meet, pm me. $20 (it's like $30 with tax at autobacs).

cool, i was going to do that out of laziness, but if it looks that good whats the point of doing it on the inside

Can of testors is only 4.99 and will do both tailights with some to spare. They use it for the plastic on RC cars so it bites good and wont peel easy.

If you guys paint it from the outside, wont it get scratched or faded over time? BTW nice with the lines and all, really detailed.
