I'm installing an alpine deck into my evo. following everybody's advice I purchased a metra wiring harness for mitsu 1994-up. I also grounded the deck separately into chassis. everythig is all wired up but the deck doesnt power up. the car starts but interior lights and power locks doesn't work. I was thinking maybe there is a short in the way I wired up the deck so I disconnected the harness and plugged in the stock radio and that doesn't work anymore either, no power. I checked all the fuses inside and in the engine compartment and they are all ok. anybody else had this problem before. Is there anything I overlooked? any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is true. Lol how did u wire up your power. This one time back in the day we were puttin an amp n subs into this civic lol. N somethin fried behind the dash i was sittin in the car n smoke came out of the side vent. I dont know what fried. But none of his interior lights worked after that.

Its not all the interior electronics though right. Its just the lights right.

grab a multimeter and check the fuse block at the stereo slot. change out the fuse regardless of how it looks.
If there is still a problem I would be happy to take a look, that is if you dont mind coming to oceanside area
