Between the Helix 3" and the ESPELIR 2.75"dp, which one is better?

with stock turbo, some told me to go with the 2.75dp. With the 3" you might not get the hp you should be getting. It might also throw off the cel light.

this has been fairly well covered by David Buschur in an other thread and he got well over 300 whp on a 2.5 inch dp so IF you plan to keep the stock turbo and only use small cams like 264's you will have more than enough flow with a 2.75.


now on too the great advice already given to you above, since NO ONE asked do you have an 05 Evo? if so helix wont fit right, and the Espilier may not fit an 05 either if it was cut for a USDM 03-04 GSR but I dont know for sure on that so ask a vendor.

who ever told you that should not be allowed to mod their own car beucase it is blatantly clear they have no idea what they are talking about, a DP wont throw a CEL.

not true at all, I highly doubt you could go buy 3 different 3inch downpipes and put them next to eachother and find one that was the same as the other all company's spend time nad money researing and developing for the best product possible i really doubt if they were all the same business's would put forth the amount of effort they do as well as spend the money in development

actually the horsepower comment about the stock turbo with the 3inch dp id like to see numbers for this. Because generally the gain of horsepower is from a freer flowing exhaust. Meaning exhaust gases get out faster. But with a 3 inch dp the exhaust gases suddenly expand to 3inches. the rapid expansion cools the exhaust gases and slows the exhaust down. Works through research and testing found this to be true which is why they offer the 70mm dp for stock turbo and 76mm dp for an upgraded turbo which would require more flow. So from their findings the evo made more power from the 70mm than the 76mm with the stock turbo. Now throw in a 3" o2 housing and it changes.

Really? Since the factory already dictates the path in which the pipe must travel, and the fashion is 3" inches or 76 mm, and a stainless steel pipe is a stainless steel pipe, mandrel bends are mandrel bends, how much R and D is needed? More like, whose got the best word of mouth and published advertising.
