i need brake pads this weekend. i've done a lot of research and have finally came down to two pads for my decision. i wanted the ferodo ds2500 but its too much. i do track events about once every 3-4 months. i'm looking for something with minimal squeal and brake dust. which do you guys recommend out of the two. i can get both for about the same price.

if those are the only two-i would get the hawk
i have the b-force and think they are pretty weak in the canyons after hammering them, and are pathetic on track
the only experiance i have with hawk is the blue 9012(track) and they are the best i've ever used

I have the Hawk HPS and they are on par with the stock brakes if not better. Brake feel is progressive, but firm with plenty of stopping power. I got front and rear set for about $140 shipped.

My vote goes for endless SS pads. Superb stopping power, though more oriented for the streets, but I figure your car will be on the street more than the track.

from experience these arent a good choice for track pads, they are nice on street but they just didnt have enough stopping power for the track.

Do they have more stopping power than the OEM's?

ya way better than oem, but just not a good 10/10ths track pad.

good, being that I was decently happy with the OEM's at the track, I should enjoy the SS-S very much...

Just remember carbon/kevlar pads usually need to heat up quite bit for them to work. I have used full carbon pads and they are great for pure stopping power but you had to do warm up laps to get them working. Carbon metallic are more forgiving as well as ceramic compounds. Before you go out by brand names try to understand what the pads are made of. In general, race pads will eat rotors if not used consistently at very high temperatures. It is not possible to maintain these temps driving on the street, or even autocrossing/slalom racing. They are for long course racing only! (Road Racing, Improved Touring, GT, etc.)

at tracks like Streets of willow the SS-S or OEM pads will not have enough stopping power.

I have tried the Hawk blues (same as jondukes) there great pads for Track use only
others are very happy as well with the ferrodos DS2500 for someone looking to get a street/track combo.
I just purchase another set of Titan Kais which are great for the track and excellent for the street.
my next pad that i will try, it will be probably the PF's 93 that Road race offers or DS 2500 to see how they compare themselves with the Titan kais.

I ran streets with stock pads my first time, they were ok but faded quick.

the track i ran in texas, the back straight was about 2/3rd's through 4th gear to a TIGHT 2nd gear set of chicanes and I never really felt any fade, but I also wasn't going at 10/10's

if you can handle the noise, performance friction pads or the Hawk Blues would be a good choice. But I'm not kidding when I say hawk Blues can make you think a cat on steroids is dying while clawing its nails on a chalkboard. Not very practical on the streets.
