Got a short shifter installed and I am now looking for an aftermarket shift knob.

What shif knobs out there are counterweighted AND retain near stock size diameterwise (for my not so large hands) and fit? Any reccomendations?

i have a black ralliart knob. it would work well with a short shifter and is good for small hands.

it sits a little high on the stock.

got it with the car but never used it

if you want i can sell it to you for a good price

You should probably hit up a shop and get a feel for what sits best in your palm.

WaveMixer has a pretty unique shifter.
OG Domestic style, but it's very comfortable.

I use a GReddy which was more a style choice then anything.
evoAte909 runs a heavier GReddy shifter and the shifing is a lot crisper.

One piece of advice I do have for you is to be careful how much you put into the shifter. You really don't want to shift faster then your synchros will allow. Otherwise you'll find yourself grinding gears and crying to Doubl-"A", MCO.

Whats wrong with the stock shift knob?

I'll keep the above in mind.

I must add one more requirement. The knob must not be slippery. That would exclude all polished metal surfaces.

I tried the B&M knob which came with the shifter but it was just to big and slippery. A textured metal surface would probalbly be OK. Looking for some more reccomendations.

Whats wrong with the stock shift knob?

At first everything since it was just too light for the short shifter. The short shifter definitely decreases travel, but their is a noticeable increase in force required to shift the gears. I gather that a counterweighted knob would aid in decreasing effort.

But after driving with the stock knob for several days, I am getting accustomed to the setup and it feels real nice. The throws are much smoother now. I am just wondering how much a counterweighted shift knob would make.

I like this setup, but I have old skool tastes. It's not slippery like a round knob.
