New to the boards, I'll be leaving the Honda world soon after a theft incident about 2 days ago. Reason I really like the evo8 is because it's a monster on the track! I am constantly fighting to keep up with them.

Ok. But I'm scared the dealership will rape me. You see, I'm hoping to get one for around 20-22k or less.

S2000's sometimes go for insanely cheap prices. Usually because the owner is some uber rich guy who decides on a whim that he wants another NSX or Viper or Ferrari and doesn't have room in his 6 car garage or street to store it.

I'm hoping I'll find someone like that. :) Evo sellers - your car will be going to a good owner who will take good care of it. I'll include free pictures of your car on the track in action. =]

I doubt they'll rape you there. Tell them you are SoCalEvo guy and a local and they'll take care of you. Ask for Tom Croxton, he's the boss...

I saw your car at Best Buy a few weeks back. When I was going to buy a ps2 for GT4. I seriously want an evo, but it's pretty far out of my price range. My car was completely stripped. Everything was gone. Actually, they left the camber a arms and the rear camber kit. and 1 motor mount and bushings. the frame is still straight with damage to the hood, fenders and radiator support (trying to pry off the hood locks i had on).

I'll be going to HB Mitsu when I have some free time and can get a ride down there. Thanks Chris.

no need for stock susp. i may buy back the car from insurance and sell the shell for more than i buy it back for. the frame is straight, perfect for seam welding prep, just the fenders are dented, hood needs to be replaced. lots of items are missing from the car, but it's got most of everything.

learn from your experience, don't purchase another H badge. Purchase something that doesn't get stolen every other day

so rule out an evo or a wrx as I have had both stolen.

Odds are if you like or take pride in your car, someone else will notice and want to steal it. Doesn't matter what car it is. :(

Dec 20th, car was stolen but imobilizer pissed off the theives so much that they left the car just down the road but they striped it first, stole:

Seats, consol, gearshift, harnesses, etc...

Incidentally I got the car back finally, 67 days later, and the shop seems shocked when I told them I would be paying my deductable and that they owed me money, which I would be taking action to recoupe.

How did they manage to steal it? What kind of protection did you have on it? If I do manage to get an Evo, I won't leave my Honda-induced theft prevention methods behind. Autolock, 2-way pager alarm, detachable wheel, kill switches (actually, probably a kill relay [magnetic ones look good]) and possibly the boot.

How Much did all that cost?

I have no aftermarket theft deterants, that said I also try not to live in shitty areas.

Probably 5-700. Like they say in racing, if you have a 10 dollar head, buy a 10 dollar helmet. If you have a 30,000 dollar car....

The car was stolen in Irvine. I don't know how shitty of an area this place is...

Yeah I see you point but Im burned out on aftermarket theft deterants due to there failure to work in the past, I look at it as: If a theif is determined your arent stopping him. give the record of my Jeep and my wrx Im content to not speed the $$ on lo jack/alarm/pager/motionsensor.

Your Jeep was stolen?! What happened to it? I am going to be flying back home to borrow my parent's car for a while until I am able to sort things out with Insurance. The car is a Jeep. Do I need to lock this up to?!
