I am running 34PSI (F) 32PSI (R) and the car feels better overall compared to stock pressures.

Being that I work in the tire center I run the factory
air spec's and gots no probs. Over inflation horriable rideabilty
and will eat the center tread. My two cents is go with manufact specs

I plan on running the orig. specs once the weather warms up. I decided to change it when it was raining like crazy (center thread). I noticed when I drove into my dusty garage the contact patch has changed to more of the center. I figure with all the reports of wearing edges, I'll alternate the pressure with rotation.

What cha think the tire center guy  ? BTW, How many miles you get/have on your stock tires?

honestly i tihnk 34/32 is a bit much IF i moved the air pressure up
id go 32/32. But i also gotta admit that i run nitrogen in my tire's
cause its a costco perk. :D

btw i currently only have 2863 mile's on the car just got in Dec.

34 is fine. as long as you don't go over the max tire pressure, which is 51 i think. im running 35/32 and my turn in is more responsive. what you don't want to do is go under what the factory recommends. that is what causes tires to wear wrong.

has it crossed anyones mind here that different tires in different situations need different pressure, I use 35/32 means nothing with out other inputs as to conditions, tires, use etc.

edit: title fixed nvermind.

i run 35F/36 R (makes the rear come abit loose while turning ) car seems to handle well with this set up
Friend of mine runs 34/35 for the winter
or 36/36 all around works as well

I agree with Tom, if your on stock suspension you want more air in the rear because the car pushes, that way the rear will have less grip and rotate more.

very ineteresting now i need to go check my air pressure

When I had Advans I ran exactly that setup. After much trial and error, 34/32 is what felt the best to me in the canyons.

Costco has nitrogen?! Is it available for public?

Yeah it is, it doesn't leak or expand like air.

DoCoMo you know you're going to have to disclose your Costco location now because there will be EVOs showing up for Nitrogen on a reg. basis 8) :D :o

Someone says that they (Yokohama) recommends 39F / 37R
Is this true?

i do a lot of AutoX and steering response is very important to me. When I had the advans I talked to a guy who said (I know, Heresay) he called Yokohama and they told him the 32f/29r that mitsubishi recommends is too low. I think they told him 39f/37r. And this is on a tire with a very stiff sidewall.

bump for some question
so increasing one lb for front and rear over what mitsu recommends is the best way to go?

after a massive muellerization i had RECENTLY...

my tire pressures read at 36/36

only the inside of my tire wears under normal freeway driving conditions...

the backend is as loose as ever.. heh... drifto!!! j/k j/k... i've yet to explore the limits as i'm waiting for an upcoming track day.. ;)

once you get use to the rear being loose, you might one to try 35/36

i want to try even stiffer springs... and adjust the sway bar once more

the thing is apparently adding pressure in the rear makes the car understeer more, i don\'t see how that works either but that\'s what that article on tirerack says.

i have to digress too. i noticed that when my pressures were more equal that the car was much more stable while in oversteering mode, after quaife. but then when i \"fixed\" my tire pressures back to 34f 35r things got vERY hectiv in turn, a lot more adjusting and i don\'t like that.

someone please clear this up for good.

IF you open the driver's door there's a sticker show the pressure. i believe it's 32front and 29 rear. It's summer so i run lesser pressure. Also at higher pressure like you said "the car feel better" it also give a little better gas milelage too.

I upped mine for a stiffer feel and better mileage. I'm running 35/35 right now and feel the ride is a little too stiff on the 91 fwy in the Corona area, I hate Corona. Anyway, when I'm on a nice smooth road the car couldn't feel better with a little extra pressure. I was thinking of going to 34/33 as a happy medium.

free nitrogen at costco? regular driving causes my psi to expand up to 4 psi.

i believe nitrogen expands, but at a slower rate and more controlled. also leaks slower.
