ok ....the time has come. :D

i just got approved for a loan ....$26729 maximum amount. and ive been in talkin with the gen.manager at the closest mistu lot about a 2004 virgin GSR. heres my thoughts...

currently listed at 33k. but he did say that he is willing to work with me on the price. i know the RS invoices at 26k and the GSR invoices at 28k (for 2004 models). i wont be trading in my current car because Coke has me running all over so i dont wanna be dropping huge mileage on the evo.

now, do you think i could walk off the lot with the car for 26k? it is ALMOST two 'model' years old and still on the lot. i was kinda disappointed i couldnt get at least 28k for a maximum amount but hey, considering this is my first loan (other than financial aid) and no cosigner.

think its doable? the guy has always been very helpful since day 1. i actually knew more about the car then he or the other salesman i was talkin to. :lol: and considering he told me strait out that he could work with me on the price almost as soon as i showed a great interest in the 04. kinda tells me he wants to move it. so im kinda thinkin if i walk in there ready to give him money, hed be willing to give me the keys.

so what do you think?

the most you can probably get for an 04 is 28-29 flat. even if its a year old.

the full depreciation doesnt take effect until the car is sold and driven off the lot.

Yeah I think your choices are limited to the RS or a slightly used GSR, unless you have money to put down or a trade.

Why not wait, save up a down payment and get the IX?

or should i just suck it up and trade in the old car? miles arent that big of a deal to me, its just if i could avoid putting unnecessary miles on the evo then i would.

i think ill try to squeeze in a 'visit' and just feel around what kind of a price hes willing to let it go for. then go back and pick it up.

I got my 04 gsr for $27K back in september, which was about $1500 off of invoice. so...they should be able to come close to your approved loan amount. but think....if you can't afford to put down a little chunk of money to make up the difference, can you really afford a car like this? just food for thought.
